WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF VOLUNTEERS TO CONTINUE HAVING REUNIONS

For the Galley Reunions to continue we need a volunteer(S)

We are in need for someone to volunteer for the Secretary/Treasurer Position.  Someone came forward to do the position but then said they won't be able to do it due to family commitments.     If you can serve for two years as Secretary, please contact Warren Galley     We are trying to shift some of the workload of the secretary to others so there is not as much to do.  The majority of the work is the day of the reunion.  We are looking to have someone else do the invitations and mailing.  Please consider serving or we will be forced to rethink having reunions in the future.

Book Publishing

We have now stopped taking updates for the republishing of the Galley book.
I have secured a publishing Co. and we will be trying to print later this fall or the beginning of the new year. We are able to do a hard back book but it will more than likely be an 8.5 x 11 due to the number of pages in this edition.  We will not be republishing all the history in the Red and blue books as we do not have space.  We also have a lot of new history to put in with the discovery of our German and Swiss lines.  There will be only a direct ancestry from those countries.  We will let you know as soon as books are printing and when they will be available.

We are hoping to also offer a CD with the books that you can use on your computer.  There is much more information and notes on the CD than will be printed in the book.  We can add ancestors photo's, memoirs, etc... to the CD. that we cannot add in the book.

If you have any questions you can write to Debbie Walsh  Debau92@sbcglobal.net

114th Galley Family Reunion

The Galley reunion was held on Saturday August 13, 2011 at Twin Lakes Park in Greensburg (pavillion #5).   There were about 40 people present.  President Warren (Butch) Galley and secretary Crystal Theys put on the reunion this year and games were planned by VP Keith Galley.  A short meeting was held after a buffet lunch to vote in a new Secretary/Treasurer.  The position was accepted but that person later had to decline due to family issues.   We are still in need of someone to take the secretary position for the family reunions to continue.    There was also a vote to use the History money to notify all family  members (via postcards) of the last chance to get any updates on genealogy turned in.   It was also voted on to use the History fund money for the printing of the 3rd edition of the Galley Family History book.

Everyone enjoyed the afternoon playing games and many stayed for supper as well.
